It's Never To Late To Try Something NEW!

It's Never To Late To Try Something NEW!

What a wonderful holiday weekend with the family!
I even had an opportunity to try something NEW! Kayaking!
Yep, it was a new adventure I dove into it with two feet and a life jacket of course! It was fun, and exciting and I would recommend that you all try it! If you don't have a relative or friend with kayaks look for a rental place the next time you travel.

The main take home message: Its never to late to try something new! Let's be honest I would have never guessed that I would be kickboxing every Saturday morning but I love it and its a great work out! Find what you like, don't be afraid to try new things and have fun!

Get healthy and LIVE!
P.S. That's not me in the picture, I forgot my camera!
Next time I will be sure to snap a shot!

Call me a FOODIE!

 Call me a FOODIE...

Go to fullsize image
It's ironic that I help people lose weight everyday and yet I still love food!
Well... Not just any food to be honest! I love good, fresh, healthy food! I am officially a foodie! I actually enjoy grocery shopping every week! I have found myself recently driving to the local store just to browse the shelves to see if there are any new products, and even researching them online! I am so intrigued in the passion and businesses of these people, who create the foods we eat! I am not talking about CRAP! Not processed, artificial items I mean 100% whole ingredients that you really can enjoy when you take the first bite! I even love the packaging. The unique labels that give the first impression of a product! To be honest I would buy one product over another just because the label was more attractive! OK, so by now you now I am a little materialistic too! No harm in that! I just like what I like! So the next time you have to go grocery shopping give me a call I would be more than happy to do it for you! I take pride in the foods that I feed my family and grocery shopping is the perfect way to do this!

    BLT's or so I thought

    Go to fullsize image
    BLT's
When you hear the letters B.L.T you usually conjure up an image of a juicy bacon and lettuce tomato sandwich, with fresh thick slices of bread, right? Well, that's what I though too until I talked with this woman. This is the funniest thing I've ever heard when it comes to weight loss and eating healthy! When asking the woman how her weekend went she stated that she had too many BLT's! So of course I went into a huge long inspirational e-mail about how to start fresh and even how to make a healthy BLT with lettuce instead of bread and avocado instead of mayo with turkey bacon too! She proceed to e-mail me back and tell me that BLT's were ( bites, licks and tastes)! I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes! How funny but how true! It is those small frequent eating occasions that are unplanned and throw us off course! Those unplanned calories add up when you're not counting them! So call them BLT's or whatever you want they stand in the ways of your goals! So stay on course and plan ahead!
And avoid the BLT'S in life!

    IT'S THE SMALL THINGS

    It's the Small Things...

    Happy belated Mother's Day!
My weekend was filled with precious moments and joy, and I hope yours was to!
This weekend I was busy with 2 media appearances and multiple family commitments, which is the norm around here. A dull moment would be a welcome surprise.
I feel blessed to have had the opportunities I did this weekend and
continue to pursue my passion for healthy living.
But it was not this stuff that made my weekend so special it was the dozen roses, thoughtful card and chocolate cake (yes chocolate cake) that made it so special. My husband knows me well I don't expect flowers or cards on special days but it was so thoughtful and meaningful.
I can picture him now touting all three tired children to the store to shop for me. My younger son wanted to buy me a special Mother's Day cake and decorate it himself and my boys picked out the perfect card.. $7.99 !?! and worth every penny! I am so thankful for my beautifully, crazy and original life and can't wait to see whats in store next!
    Happy Mother's Day

    Tip of the Day

Tip of the day... Don't turn a bad meal into a bad week! Don't give up and throw in the towel... just jump right back into things the next meal!

    Hey Kids!

Hey Kids! It's almost SUMMER! What are you going to do to stay active and healthy? Here's a few ideas:

    Get Outside and Play!

Play hopscotch, tag, or your favorite sport. Take advantage of the many local parks, pools and fields and invite your friends to play games. Make it a goal to stay active for at least an hour a day. You'll feel better, have more strength and have lots of fun!

    Stay Hydrated!

While you're having fun playing games outside, remember to drink plenty of water. Water helps your body cool down and refreshes you after physical activity.

    Freeze Tag

This game is a lot like regular tag, only when a person gets "tagged," they can no longer move. They can only move if another team member tags them back into action!

    Plant a Garden!

Summer is a great time of year to enjoy your favorite fruits and vegetables. What better way to get your fruits and vegetables than to grow them in your backyard! Ask your parents if you can start a garden. Gardening is great exercise and harvesting your own fruits and vegetables is healthy!
