Go to fullsize imageHOT YOGA Anyone?
I posted Hot Yoga on Facebook and got a great response! Apparently this is all the new rage! Very popular in California it has moved closer than we think!

Q:So what is Hot Yoga ?
A:Hot yoga is a generic term that may refer to any type of yoga practiced in a heated environment. The theory behind hot yoga is that it helps the body to sweat out toxins while allowing the practitioner to safely come deeper into asanas (poses or stretches). The room temperature for a hot yoga class can range from 30˚ to 50˚ C (85˚ to 122˚ F). Humidity can range from 40% to 60%. Different methods draw from Hatha, Vinyasa, and other yoga styles. Though the Bikram style was a pioneering force, it is not the only style of hot yoga.

Rumor has it we can experience this at The Essence Studio in Perrysburg! Check out their website http://essencembs.com/

Its great to try new types of Physical Activity! Let me know what you think!

One of those days!

Go to fullsize image Today was one of THOSE days! It seems that Easter wreaked havoc on my families routine. And the one most drastically affected was myself. I was so caught up with shopping for the baskets and brunch, that I forgot about Monday!
Today my children were off school and I still had to go to work... so business as usual until I looked at the calender... a hair appointment for myself at 5:15 and a tired babysitter! Has anyone else wondered when there was time to do what YOU needed to do? After a long day at work and hungry children it's hard to get things done.I think having last Friday off actually put me in "easy street" mode all weekend, and I was off my game all weekend long! O well looking back it was all worth it!
Family, fun, and memories! I guess being behind is not all that bad, especially when you had a great time with the family!

P.S. It's 9:30 and my boys are still up! They are in denial of 6am wake up tomorrow for school!

Taco Bell asks Toledo to judge its new taco

Test begins for item with Doritos shell

Long known for its glass-making prowess, a world-class art museum, and Jeep, the Toledo area soon could have another claim to fame -- birthplace of a taco made with Doritos corn chips.
Fast-food chain Taco Bell has begun testing a new menu product, the Doritos Locos Tacos, exclusively in the Toledo area this month, with plans to introduce the item nationally if it pans out with customers. In an effort to get Toledoans to render a firm opinion on the new taco, the Irvine, Calif.-based chain even has resorted to a television advertising blitz this past week, alerting local customers of the test trial.
The ads even send up a zinger at the city of Columbus, making fun of the fact that it isn't getting the Doritos Locos Taco.
"I had a cat-eating-the-canary smile when I heard that punch line [about Columbus]," said Jim Rush, senior vice president and partner at Communica Inc., a Toledo marketing firm.
A spokesman for Taco Bell, which is owned by Yum! Brands Inc. of Louisville, declined to reveal much about the Doritos Locos taco, saying that too much information about the chain's intentions might spoil test results. The spokesman confirmed that the test had begun just recently and would continue for an indefinite period.
However, according to the ads, the menu item sells for $1.29 and resembles the chain's taco supreme menu item, but the shell is made with Doritos chips and has a cheese-flavored powdered coating. Yum! Brands has a partnership with Doritos' maker, Frito-Lay.
Toledo has been used as a test market by many companies or organizations, including Taco Bell. In 2007, Taco Bell used Toledo as one of four test markets for a new breakfast menu.
In 2004, Boston Market made Toledo a test market for home delivery, and in 2000, the milk industry used Toledo to test a spill-proof, pitcher-shaped milk jug.
Mr. Rush, a marketing expert for 25 years who spent part of his career on the West Coast, said Toledo is well-known as a kind of everyman-town that makes it perfect for test marketing.
"We have a nice cross section of demographics -- age groups, gender, and CEOs to line workers," Mr. Rush said. "I would say also that the thing about the people here is that we're sincere, but I would also say we are very honest in how we go about things. For us to part with a dollar, we have to be provided with some value or gratification."
Toledo also is known in the restaurant industry as a town that enjoys dining out as a major form of entertainment, and Mr. Rush said Taco Bell likely knows that. "It's going to play elsewhere if it plays well in Toledo."

I love this.... Great Ideas from Mercy

Hey kids! The weather is warming up. Get outside and play some games with your friends. Here are a few ideas to get you started!

Nature Scavenger Hunt

Make a list of items to find in your backyard. Make it fun by listing items more difficult to find like "something blue," or "something soft." Challenge your friends to see what they can find in their own backyard!

Red Rover

Gather a group of friends and split into two teams. Form a line facing each other and link arms. Challenge the other team to break through your team's arms by saying, "Red Rover, Red Rover, Send (say name of person) right over!" If that person breaks through the chain, they get to bring someone back to their team. If they can't break through, they have to join the opposing team. Continue until one team has the most people.

Freeze Tag

This game is a lot like regular tag, only when a person gets "tagged," they can no longer move. They can only move if another team member tags them back into action!

Kick Ball

Make this your new summer game! Gather friends and set up like a baseball field with four bases. Use a large inflated rubber ball to pitch to the kicker. The rules are just like baseball, only the kicker kicks the ball instead of hitting it with a bat.

Hop Scotch

This game is fun to play with friends on the playground or at home! Use sidewalk chalk to draw a board (as seen on right) with squares up to ten. Find a small stone or coin to use as the game piece. Toss the game piece on the "10" square. Then hop through the game board, using one foot on each square. Side by side squares are straddled, with the left foot landing in the left square, and the right foot landing in the right square. Skip the square with the game piece. Continue tossing the game piece down the board and hop through until you reach "1." The first person to hop through the board without touching any lines or falling wins.

Secret #2

Wildwood sign.jpg
Secret # 2 Wildwood Preserve Metropark
Involving you family to be healthy can sometimes be a chore! But not with the beautiful metroparks we have in the area. I love to go to Wildwood Metropark Preserve with my family. We can take family walks with no fear of cars or traffic. We enjoy  the beautiful surroundings and experience nature! With endless educational opportunities such as the bird and nature lodge and the playground we can be there for hours! Physical activity with my family is one of my favorite things! Don't forget to pack a healthy picnic and stay a while!  See you there!

Wildwood Facts: Wildwood Preserve Metropark is a nature reserve located in Toledo, Ohio, near Sylvania, that is part of the Toledo Metroparks. Previously, the park was a family estate of Robert A. Stranahan, Senior, and, in the 1970s, both the estate and the home were bought by the Metroparks.

Built in 1938, the Wildwood Manor House was the home of the original owners, the Stranahans. The house, still decorated in a Georgian colonial style, is now partially open to the public for free tours, while other building on the property are now used as public restrooms, visitors centers, and offices.
Also on the property is the Oak Grove School. The tiny schoolhouse, built in 1897, was moved from Corey Road and Springbrook Drive to the reserve in 1998. It is occasionally open to the public.
